The Chick of the Walk final was a great way to celebrate International Women’s Day at Woolooware. Despite the long and wet day, the winners Margi Collins and Karen Parker emerged victorious after battling it out with Barb Foy and Geraldine Earl, ultimately winning 2/1. Congratulations to both teams for enduring the 4-week event and showcasing their skills.
After the final, members of the club gathered inside to stay dry and enjoyed a delightful lunch with singing and champagne to celebrate women’s resilience and successes. The event also featured a question time session with inspiring top Australian water polo players and their coach, Jacki Northam, adding to the celebration of women’s achievements.
To support their team’s upcoming travel to Perth in a few weeks, members generously purchased raffle tickets. It was a fantastic opportunity to come together, honor women’s accomplishments, and contribute to the success of the water polo team. The day was a true celebration of empowerment and unity among women in sports and beyond.
