Elaine Anderson recently celebrated her 80th birthday surrounded by friends and fellow members at Woolooware. It was a joyous occasion with everyone coming together to wish her well and enjoy some delicious birthday cupcakes. Elaine took the opportunity to share her love story of meeting her husband Geoff at the club over 60 years ago. Her dedication to Woolooware is evident through her active participation in various club activities, including playing in pennant teams, serving on the committee, and acting as a handicapper for many years. It’s heartwarming to see her back on the course and still engaged with the club.
In addition to Elaine’s celebration, Meg Russell was also recognized for her outstanding 40-year membership at Woolooware. Meg has a long and rich history with the club, showing unwavering support for competitive players in pennants and inter-club competitions. Her contributions to Woolooware are vast, from being a dedicated pennant player and caddy to serving as the Women’s President and actively participating in the Legacy Day committee. Both Elaine and Meg have left a lasting impact on the club, especially in shaping the role and involvement of women at Woolooware.
As we celebrate these two remarkable women and their contributions to Woolooware, we are reminded of the importance of staying young, staying connected, and enjoying the game of golf. So, whether you’re a long-time member like Elaine and Meg or a newcomer to the sport, remember that
